Historical Information:

Contractors Casualty & Surety Company was incorporated on February 28, 1991, under the laws of New York State. It was licensed to write business on March 19, 1992. Contractors wrote performance and payment bonds for small and medium size contractors and ceased underwriting in early 1999. Frontier Insurance Company, a New York insurer, was in negotiations to acquire CCSC but the acquisition never materialized. During these negotiations, and subsequent to, CCSC was writing business on Frontier paper.

Contractors Casualty was placed into Rehabilitation on July 1, 1999, and into Liquidation on October 4, 1999.
