Historical Information:
The American Fidelity Fire Insurance Company was incorporated under the laws of New York December 14, 1923, as the Lincoln Fire Insurance Company of New York. On August 31, 1931, capital was increased by the absorption of Chicago Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Chicago, Illinois. The present name was adopted in 1943. On November 1, 1963, the American Plan Corporation of Woodbury, New York acquired approximately 90% of the Company and American Fidelity acquired control of American Consumer Insurance Company of Woodbury, New York.
